Ion Lithium batteries should not be stored for a long period of time, as they age and lose capacity.

If there is a need to store them for a long period of time, they should be charged to 50% of its capacity, and recharged every 3 months.

An ideal solution is to have a second battery as back-up, using them both alternatively. While one is in use, the other one may stored charged.

To prolong the battery’s lifespan, please follow these recommendations.

The battery should always:

  • Be kept clean and dry.
  • Be stored away from water or humid environments.
  • Have its charge status checked every 3 months and recharged if necessary.
  • Never be stored discharged, as this may cause irreversible damage.

If these use and storage recommendations are followed, the battery will last for more than 5 years, with 75% charge retention (or higher).

elebia strongly recommends using only the chargers supplied by the manufacturer to ensure correct battery performance and safety.
