1. Product Overview
The D10 has specifically been designed to drop the load in the air when the order is given.
IMPORTANT: The D10 is NOT A SAFETY HOOK and NOT A FAILSAFE DEVICE. Any misuse, mistake or malfunction can result in the D10 dropping the load in the air.
Elebia has introduced multiple measures to reduce the probability of a malfunction causing an accidental drop of the load, but this probability is not zero.
Only qualified personnel can operate the D10. It is mandatory to obtain certification before use.

5. LED Status Indicator
| LED Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | Hook is ready for use / idle state |
| Red | Latch is being closed / transition (approximately 15 seconds) / opening sequence |
| Blue | Latch fully closed – secure closure complete |
| White | Low battery – do not start any operation |
Critical Warnings:
- Do NOT lift the load if LEDs show white lights
- Do NOT operate the D10 if the LEDs are not working
6. Release Sequence (Two-Factor Authorization)
The D10 requires a two-factor release sequence using both eMINI remotes:
- eMini A: Follow the specific button sequence to prepare the D10. This initiates a 10-second countdown for eMini B to issue the release command
- eMini B: Must command the opening within the 10-second window
- Time between eMini B's command and load release is approximately 7 seconds
- An alarm will sound during the release manoeuvre
Important: The crane must remain stationary during the load drop process.
7. Pre-Release Procedure
Manual Hook Closure:
- Ensure D10 is in idle state with safety pin in upper hole, movable hook open, LEDs green
- Manually close the movable hook
- Change safety pin position to lower hole and rotate 90° clockwise – this activates autoclose sensor
- During approximately 15-second transition, LEDs will be red
- Once LEDs turn blue, secure closure is complete
Installing the Shackle:
- Attach the load to the D10 using the shackle
- Ensure shackle is properly fastened
Final Preparation for Release:
- Remove the key pin from lower hole and reposition in upper hole
- Rotate 90° clockwise – D10 is now ready to release the load
8. Operating Limits
Temperature Range:
The D10 is designed for normal atmospheric conditions within a temperature range of -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). The D10 must not be used outside these conditions.
Chemical Exposure:
The D10 must not be exposed to acids, alkalis, or their vapours.
9. Critical Warnings for Operation
- Do NOT use the D10 to transport loads – only to make a vertical lift and drop the load in the spot
- Do NOT use any other lifting accessory than the shackle provided to connect the load to the D10
- Do NOT use any other lifting accessory than the sling provided to connect the D10 to the crane
- Do NOT lift the load until the LEDs signal securely locked (blue)
- Do NOT operate the D10 if the LEDs are not working
- Do NOT operate the D10 beyond its service life
- The crane must remain stationary during the load drop process
- Ensure the load transfer and release area is clear of personnel and equipment that could be affected in the event of load drop
- If the opening sequence is complete but the load has not been dropped, lower the load vertically and check the fix and mobile hooks for deformation
10. Warranty
| Component | Warranty Period |
|---|---|
| D10 | 2 years (parts and labour) |
