Summary

The eMAX system is equipped with an intuitive alarms menu that allows users to set up two essential types of weight-based alarms: Overload alarms and Differential alarms. These alarms enhance safety and efficiency during lifting operations by providing timely alerts. It's only aplicable with load cell installed hooks.

Alarm Types and Functions

- Overload (Warning + Value): This alarm triggers when the weight on a single hook exceeds a predetermined limit, ensuring that the load does not surpass the safe operating capacity.

- Differential + Value: This alarm activates when the weight difference between two hooks exceeds a specified threshold, which is particularly useful in tandem lifting scenarios.

Accessing the Alarms Menu

To configure these alarms, follow these steps on your eMAX device:

1. Navigate to SETTINGS.

2. Select eMAX.

3. Go to SCALE and then **ALARMS**.

In this menu, you will find several options to customize your alarm settings:

- Reset alarms: This option disables all active alarms, allowing you to clear the alarm status before starting a new lift.

- Warning: Toggle this setting to enable or disable the overload alarm.

- Value: Here, you can set the weight threshold for the overload alarm.

- Differential: This option enables or disables the differential alarm.

- Value (under Differential): Set the maximum allowed weight difference between two hooks.

Alarm Type 1: Overload Alarm (Single Hook)

This alarm can be set when lifting with a single hook with loadcell installed.

Configuration Steps:

- Warning: Set to **ON** to activate the alarm.

- Value: Enter your desired weight limit in kg or lbs.

Behavior:

When the load exceeds the set Value, the eMAX screen will display a warning, emit an audible beep, and the hook will continue normal operation, as the alarm serves as an informational alert.

Example: For an EVO5 with a 5000 kg capacity, if you set Warning to ON and Value to 4500 kg, the alarm will trigger when the load exceeds 4500 kg.

Alarm Type 2: Differential Alarm (Two Hooks, Tandem Lifting)

This alarm can be set for lifting loads with two hooks, especially for long or unbalanced loads.

Functionality:

The differential alarm monitors the weight difference between Hook A and Hook B. If this difference surpasses the configured Value, the alarm will trigger, preventing load shifting and ensuring balanced lifting.

Configuration Steps:

- Differential: Auto set **ON**.

- Value (under Differential): Enter the maximum allowed weight difference in kg or lbs.

Example: If two hooks are lifting a 10,000 kg beam and you set the Differential to ON with a Value of 2000 kg, the alarm will trigger if Hook A reads 7000 kg and Hook B reads 3000 kg (4000 kg difference, which exceeds 2000 kg).

Resetting Alarms

To disable an active alarm after it has triggered or to clear the alarm status before initiating a new lift, use the **Reset alarms** option. This action does not alter your configured settings for Warning, Value, or Differential; it simply resets the active alarm state.
