If you're experiencing issues with your EVO2 hook, particularly with a stuck lock pin, this guide will help you understand the problem, diagnose it, and walk you through the repair procedure.

1. Why This Happens

The lock pin can become stuck when attempting to open the hook while it is under load. In such cases, the motor may force movement, causing the lock pin to rotate on its axis. This misalignment prevents the cam from lifting the lock pin, effectively blocking both the opening and closing mechanisms of the hook. Understanding this can help you avoid similar issues in the future.

2. Diagnosis

To diagnose the problem, start by opening the rear right cover of the hook. Inspect the lock pin for any signs of rotation or misalignment. Pay special attention to the shaft that holds the plastic pulley; it should not be deformed. When operating the hook, check if the lock pin lifts properly. If it remains jammed, this is an indication that the lock pin is indeed stuck and needs attention.

3. Repair Procedure

To repair the stuck lock pin, follow these steps:

- Remove the lock pin from the shank.

- Twist out the shank.

- Remove the shank from the hook.

- Unscrew the screw from the lock body.

- Using a screwdriver, extract all components of the lock pin.

- Replace all spare parts.

- Reassemble the lock pin into the hook, ensuring it is securely tightened.

- Reinstall the shank and calibrate the hook while it is hanging.

- Finally, check that everything operates correctly before refitting the cover.

4. Prevention

To prevent future issues, never attempt to open the hook while it is under load. Always respect the maximum releasable load specified. If the lock pin becomes stuck, cease operation immediately to prevent potential motor damage.

5. Check the motor

If, after following the repair procedure, the motor does not respond or emits abnormal noises, it may be damaged. In this case, please check the motor. You can find an article related to checking the motor [here] Falta el link!!
