When you insert the battery into your hook, it should emit a series of initialization beeps, indicating that it is ready for use. If you do not hear these signals and the hook shows no signs of life, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.

1. Check the Battery Charge and Contacts

First, ensure that you are using a fully charged battery. If possible, try inserting a different battery to see if the issue persists. Next, inspect the battery contacts inside the hook compartment for any signs of corrosion, dirt, or bent tabs. The contact tabs may become loose over time, preventing a firm connection with the battery. If you notice any dirt or corrosion, clean the contacts gently with a dry cloth to ensure a good connection.

2. Check if the Battery is Blocked by the BMS

Elebia batteries are equipped with a Battery Management System (BMS) designed to protect against short circuits and improper charging. If the battery indicator shows a charge but the hook does not initialize, the BMS may have blocked the battery. To check this, use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the battery terminals. The nominal voltage should be 12 V for the EVO2‑1700 battery and 24 V for the EVO‑1700 battery. If the reading is 0 V despite the indicator showing a charge, the battery is indeed blocked.

To unlock the battery, connect it to the charger and wait a few seconds for the BMS protection to reset. Afterward, measure the voltage again and reinsert the battery into the hook.

3. If the Hook Still Does Not Initialize

If the voltage is correct but the hook still does not emit initialization beeps, there may be an internal electrical fault, such as a short circuit in the PCB or an overcurrent condition in the motor. In these cases, the BMS will block the battery on subsequent insertions to prevent further damage.

If you find yourself in this situation, please contact our Helpdesk. Be sure to provide the hook model, serial number, and a short video demonstrating the battery insertion and the lack of response. Our technical team will assist you with the next steps.
