If you suspect the encoder is not working properly, here's a guide to check its functionality.

Preparation

Before performing the test, make sure the hook is calibrated.
You can follow this
link to see how to calibrate the hook.
The hook is correctly calibrated when a double “Beep” is emitted at the end of each opening or closing cycle.

Encoder verification test (with eMax)

  1. Turn on the eMax and make sure the hook is visible on the display.

  2. Using the remote, open the hook and check that its status is correctly shown on the eMax.

  3. Move the hook manually by hand, bringing it to a middle position.

  4. Observe the hook’s color and position on the eMax screen:

    • If the encoder is working: The hook appears red and shows a half-open position.

    • If the encoder is not working: The hook remains white and in the open position.

Notes

  • Ensure that the eMax is powered on and properly connected before performing these tests. For instructions on how to link the eMax to the hook, please refer to the following link.

Encoder verification test (hook with leds)

  1. Using the remote, open the hook and check that its status is correctly shown by the leds (green).

  2. Move the hook manually by hand, bringing it to a middle position.

  3. Observe the hook’s leds color:

    • If the encoder is working: The leds are red.

    • If the encoder is not working: Theleds remains green.
