From the eMAX, hook parameters can be accessed and modified with ease. This article details the parameters available within the MOTOR menu and provides a more in-depth explanation of each:

It is crucial to remember that manipulating these parameters without the necessary knowledge may lead to incorrect functioning of the hook. This guide aims to clarify the meanings of various settings and explain all available options.

Re-open Time (y) & Re-close Time (u)

These parameters dictate the time in seconds for the hook to return to its closed or open position if the movement is interrupted.

You can set this parameter from 0 to 9, as follows:

Closing Angle:

This parameter only applies to the evo5-25 models.

It allows you to pause the closing operation at the angles selected through this parameter. To continue the closing operation, simply press the CLOSE button again.

Power (P)

This parameter sets the maximum current the motor can use, impacting the hook's performance. You can adjust the current from 0 to 9, with each value corresponding to a specific amperage. Be cautious, as setting this too high can damage the motor.

This parameter directly affects the maximum load weight that the hook can release.

Overpower (t)

This parameter indicates the duration (in milliseconds) the hook can exceed its intensity limit. It is advisable to keep this setting unchanged to prevent potential motor damage.

Opening Time (o) & Closing Time (c)

This parameter is only for older EVO hooks that did not have an encoder, and the hook’s travel was adapted according to this parameter. These parameters define the maximum time (in seconds) the hook takes to open and close, respectively. You can set these from 0 to 9, allowing for flexibility based on your operational needs.

Halt (h)

This parameter allows you to stop the hook's movement at any point. It can be enabled or disabled, giving you full control over the hook's operation.

  • Value 0: sets Halt to Off.

  • Value 1: sets Halt to On.

Brake (d)

This parameter controls the motor brake. The motor can be electrically locked using this function. Please note that enabling the brake may, in some cases, cause damage to the motor.

You can set the parameter from 0 to 3, as follows:

Value
0

Slip Time (j)

This parameter sets the maximum time the clutch can slip. To protect the motor, the hooks are equipped with a clutch that can slip to prevent damage. With this parameter, you can set the maximum slip time in seconds, from 0 to 9, as follows:

Hysteresis (H)

This parameter defines the allowed deviation of the hook movement without motor assistance. Before the electronics detect a fault, the encoder monitors the movement and provides an alert on the eMAX display or via LEDs. If LEDs are present on the hook, the corresponding LED will turn red.

This parameter can be set from 0 to 9, as follows:

Battery threshold (b)

This parameter defines the minimum battery voltage threshold required to allow the hook motor to perform an opening/closing operation. When the battery level drops below this predefined limit, the system will inhibit the opening/closing movement to protect both the motor and the battery from improper operation under undervoltage conditions.

This prevents you from being left with a suspended load at height and unable to release it due to a completely discharged battery.
